2022 Year-in-Review

Thank you for helping us accomplish many great things this year! By God’s grace and with your help, we accomplished 6 key activities in 2022. Check them out below!

#1: Veritas Community Church

With your help, the Veritas Foundation covered all costs to construct Veritas Community Church (VCC). VCC is currently serving a congregation of 80+ people in a city where 70% of the population is Muslim. VCC’s official launch is on Christmas Day!

#2: Sierra Leone Association for the Blind

Veritas partnered with the Sierra Leone Association of the Blind (SLAB) to create a Vocational Center for children who graduate from the Paul School for the Blind. The Vocational Center teaches skills used to make garments, baskets, soap, and recreational items, to name a few!

#3: Healthcare Initiatives

  • Free healthcare for 50 blind children

  • Emergency surgery to save Peter’s life (Pastor of VCC)

  • Ongoing healthcare for children in the community (one child has diabetes and the other child has sickle cell anemia)

  • Partnership with Dr. Feimata Yokie to provide a young boy with an artificial eye

(Mohamed Konneh, pictured below, was self-conscious and asked for our help. He certainly didn’t need to be self-conscious… he is just the cutest!)

#4: Paul School for the Blind

Veritas provided operational and financial support to the Paul School for the Blind. With your help, we maintained the kitchen and laundry facilities we constructed last year, gave clothes, hygiene items and education supplies, provided over 36,000 meals, and more!

#5: Education Initiatives

  • Supported college tuition and provided laptops

    • Kemoh Kallon is studying to become a pastor

    • Kennie Amara is studying to become a teacher

    • James Mbayo is studying to become a Community Health Officer

  • Supported after-school tutoring for Adama Sesay and Sallay Kono

(Sallay is pictured below!)

#6: Bibles

Based on a recommendation from a faithful donor, the Veritas Foundation reached out to Leading-the-Way Ministries (LTW) last year. LTW donated over 100 audio Bibles last year and 200 this year for us to give to those in the city of Bo, Sierra Leone. Never before have we seen such a yearning for God’s Word! People came from all over (even from outside cities) asking for the gift of the Gospel.

(The black and yellow devices in the pictures below are the solar-powered audio Bibles!)

Thank you, all, for your incredible generosity and care for the children and families of Bo, Sierra Leone this past year. You are an immense blessing to our ministry, and we pray the Lord helps us accomplish many more wonderful things for His kingdom next year!
